Coronavirus Advisory

Just like you, we continue to grapple with the reality of COVID-19. We will do our part to curtail the spread of this deadly disease. We plan on meeting physically as much as possible for our events, but safety is always paramount and we will follow all county, state and national guidelines at all times. Presently (August 2020), we plan on meeting physically but with strict precautions. We will only physically meet 1) outdoors, 2) respecting appropriate social distance of 6-feet between families, and 3) all participants will be required to wear face masks covering their nose and mouth when near other people. Those who fail to comply will be asked to leave.

Dear Tassajara Hills Community Families,

Cub Scout Pack 689 invites your son to join us in our 2020-2021 Scouting year.  Cub Scouting is open to all boys attending Kindergarden through fifth grades. Cub Scouting has ten purposes including character development, good citizenship, respectful relationships, fun and adventure, friendly service and others. We work on scouting’s purposes and twelve core values through a year of scheduled activities, a select few include:

  • Monthly Pack Meetings (Tassajara Hills Elementary School’s MPR)
  • Monthly Den Meetings (small, grade-specific groups of scouts)
  • Pinewood Derby (racing gravity power race cars built by scouts)
  • Fall & Spring Campouts
  • Popcorn sales fundraiser
  • Scouting For Food (annual national food drive)
  • Blue & Gold Banquet (graduation ceremony from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts)
  • And more! (college sporting events, monster truck shows, museum trips, police/fire station visits, marching in Independence Day parade, etc...)

Pack 689 typically has over 35 scouts and is an excellent organization for boys and their families to build new bonds and friendships in our community.  Feel free to join us for any Pack Meeting (calendar here).  Annual registration fee is $175.00 per scout payable by check made out to "Cub Scout Pack 689".  You can register online here.
